About

My name is Niccolò Barbetti. This site supports my project work for the master’s in Contemplative Studies.

The project

We live in a society that rewards productivity, performance and consumption, and struggles to offer safe spaces where people can pause, listen to one another and cultivate awareness and shared responsibility. At the same time, interest in contemplative practices is growing — yet they often remain confined to specialist settings or detached from an ethical, communal vision.

Il Sanghone grows from here: the idea of an association conceived as a network rather than a single centre, able to give rise to initiatives in many areas — practice groups, paths for teachers, support for research, cultural activities and projects in nature — in a lay, inclusive language inspired by the Sōtō Zen tradition.

The practice

Seated and walking meditation, awareness of breath and body, shared reading and film evenings, convivial moments and spaces for co-design: occasions to weave bonds and let practice settle into everyday life, in the spirit of non-attachment to results.

The blog

The blog is conceived as an editorial aggregator: a space open to friends and collaborators to publish relevant articles and reviews, and so to spread and evolve the dharma — as has happened many times in history — to make it useful, today, to all beings.
